Two Australian swimmers will be unable to use Social Media during this summer’s Olympics in London. The two swimmers, Nick D’Arcy and Kenrick Monk angered Australia’s Olympic Committee (AOC) after posting photos of themselves with guns on their social media accounts earlier last week.

The AOC believes that the actions of the two swimmers were foolish and they were advised to take the photos down immediately. D’Arcy and Monk also agreed to returning home to Australia immediately after the games finish in London which begins next month.

It appears that this is strike two for swimmer D’Arcy. D’Arcy assaulted Australian triple Commonwealth games gold medalist Simon Cowley and this resulted in him being kicked off of the Beijing Olympic team in 2008.

The AOC believes that social media will serve as a distraction for the two swimmers during the London games. AOC believes that during the games, the swimmers focus should be on swimming and competing.
