The USA soccer team clinched a last minute win in extra-time to seal their spot in the women’s Football final with a 4-3 victory over Canada! This is not the first time the USA women’s team has made it to the finals with a thrilling come from behind win

The final match for the USA team will be a repeat of last year’s match up in the World Cup final against Japan. Last year, the top ranked USA team lost to Japan on penalty kicks.

The Americans were preparing for a shootout before USA’s Alex Morgan won the game for the team! Morgan’s 10-yard header went over Canadian goalkeeper Erin McLeod’s head, avoiding a shootout.

Are you a fan of the Olympic sport fencing? Have you been following fencing at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London?
History was made last night in London when Africa won their first ever Olympic fencing medal! However, China’s Lei Sheng took home the gold medal in the men’s individual foil!

Egyptian fencer Alaaeldin Abouelkassem (age 21) took home the silver medal in the competition, although he was really hoping for the gold! The bronze medal went to Republic of Korea’s Choi Byungchul after a nail biting match against Andrea Baldini of Italy.

The United States Women’s National Soccer team is off to a great start at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London! The Americans have already earned enough points to advance them to the next round! However, they still need to put forth their best effort against North Korea in tomorrow’s match!

If the Americans win their next match against North Korea, they will most likely avoid the Group F winner. North Korea won their first game in London against Columbia but fell short in their second match against France.

If you’re an American soccer fan, the name Alex Morgan probably sounds very familiar! The 21 year old player is key for the American squad. She is quick, creative, knows how to score a goal and is tough to stop! Another top playing on the squad is goalkeeper Hope Solo, who has been referred to as the world’s best keeper.

Are you a fan of Alex Morgan or Hope Solo? Will you tune into the squads next match in the Olympic Games? Let us know on our Facebook page, linked HERE

Australian Swimmers Banned From Using Social Media During London Olympics

Two Australian swimmers will be unable to use Social Media during this summer’s Olympics in London. The two swimmers, Nick D’Arcy and Kenrick Monk angered Australia’s Olympic Committee (AOC) after posting photos of themselves with guns on their social media accounts earlier last week.

The AOC believes that the actions of the two swimmers were foolish and they were advised to take the photos down immediately. D’Arcy and Monk also agreed to returning home to Australia immediately after the games finish in London which begins next month.

It appears that this is strike two for swimmer D’Arcy. D’Arcy assaulted Australian triple Commonwealth games gold medalist Simon Cowley and this resulted in him being kicked off of the Beijing Olympic team in 2008.

The AOC believes that social media will serve as a distraction for the two swimmers during the London games. AOC believes that during the games, the swimmers focus should be on swimming and competing.

What are your thoughts on the situation? Let us know on Stober Laws Facebook page linked HERE
