Students living in Nassau county will begin to experience new strict testing regulations this fall when they sit down to take the SAT or ACT this fall.
Nassau’s District Attorney Kathleen Rice along with executives from The College Board and Act have recently announced nationwide changes that will be in effect to prevent cheating on standardized tests this fall.
Students are going to be required to upload a photo into a database at the time of registration that will be compared to their government issued identification card. Students will also have to certify their identity in writing at their test center and acknowledge the possibility of a criminal referral and prosecution. The new test regulations will also eliminate standby testing and students ID’s will be checked more frequently, including re-entry from breaks.
The college board is trying to maintain an honest and fair testing environment for all of the students nationwide who take the ACT and SAT every year.
