On Sunday morning, a body was pulled from the Atlantic Ocean. A boater, who contacted authorities around 11:30 a.m., found Ninive Petrocelli, 40 years old.

Ninive’s husband, John Petrocelli, who is the president and founder of Petrocelli Construction Corp. was on the boat with her and reported her missing Saturday night around midnight. Ninive was reported missing in Block Island Sound, which is about 2 ½ miles off Montauk Point.

Petrocelli’s body was found about 3 nautical miles south of Montauk Point, and 5 nautical miles from where she was reported missing from. Erik Swanson, the Coast Guard spokesman, said she fell off the stern of the boat. Records show the boat is a 1999 46 1/2 –foot Carver Yacht, who was owned by Frank Monte, the chief financial officer and general manager of the Petrocelli Company.

Swanson claims Ninive Petrocelli was not wearing a life jacket. The Suffolk County Medical Examiners Office will continue to figure out the cause of the death.
