Last night, the New York Rangers sailed past the Capitals winning Game 7 on the road, a first in the history of the franchise!

The Rangers defeated the Capitals in a 5-0 victory, which advances them to the second-round of Stanley Cup playoffs in a match up against the Boston Bruins.

Henriq Lundqvist, shutout the Capitals two nights in a row with 27 saves on Sunday night at the Garden and 35 saves in last night’s game.

According to Newsday, NY Rangers head Coach John Tortorella said, “I didn’t think it was going to be 5-0 the way the series has gone, but it was our best game of the series. Down 2-0 in the series, I just didn't think we were far off; it was still a tough road to climb. Henriq was obviously fantastic through the series.” (Newsday.com)
