Earlier today, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and County Police Commissioner Thomas Dale announced
that the department will be allocating additional police officers this weekend
for an extensive driving while intoxicated enforcement initiative for St.
Patrick’s Day weekend.
Mangano and Dale are advising all
residents:
- If you plan to drink, choose a designated driver before going out.
- Take mass transit, a cab, or ask a sober friend to drive you home.
- Spend the night where the activity is being held.
- Always buckle up- it’s the best defense against a drunken driver.
