Food and Drink Distribution Sites in Long Island for Those In Need

Yesterday, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that Nassau County, FEMA, Island Harvest and the Red Cross would be distributing food and drinks to residents who are in need from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The Red Cross has set up many Mobile Meal distribution centers in Nassau County which are open from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. 

At these locations, there will be water meals and comfort kits for all of those who are in need. You can find these mobile distribution centers at:
  • Cedar Creek Park, Merrick Road – East of Wantagh Avenue in Seaford
  • Nickerson Beach Park, 880 Lido Blvd, Lido Beach

FEMA also has locations set up on the north and south shores of Long Island

South Shore locations:
  • Bellmore: Newbridge Road Park, 2600 S. Newbridge Rd.
  • East Rockaway: Village Hall, 376 Atlantic Ave.
  • Long Beach: East Elementary - Intersection of Neptune & Hudson Blvd.
  • Long Beach: West Elementary - Intersection of Maryland and Beach St.
  • Island Park: Lincoln Ornes Middle School, 150 Trafalger Blvd.
  • Island Park:Heggarty School, 100 Radcliffe Road
  • Massapequa Park: Marjorie R. Post Community Park, 451 Unqua Rd.
  • Oceanside: Oceanside Park, 3800 Mahlon Brower Dr.

North Shore Locations:
  • Bayville: Stehli Beach, Corner of Bayville Rd & Bayville Ave.
  • Great Neck:Great Neck North High School, 35 Polo Road
