Two Garden City High School Seniors were named National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists! Seniors Neil T. Quigley and Jacquelyn N.
Seskin were the two finalists from GCHS. These two semifinalists represent less
than one percent of all United States high school seniors!
Neil and Jacquelyn were selected from approximately 1.5
million juniors from 22,000 high schools across the country by taking the PreliminarySAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Since 2010, GCHS has had 17 students achieve semifinalist
status in the National Merit Scholarship Program! The students that qualify as
semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist
level of the competition.
Congratulations to Neil and Jacquelyn! Best of luck in
the remainder of the competition!
