Family-Friendly Weekend Events on Long Island

It may not feel like spring today, but May is right around the corner.  Looking for something fun to do with your family this weekend?  There are plenty of fun events happening across Long Island.

Weekend Events:

Arbor Day Family Festival
Where: Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park
Cost: $20 Per Vehicle
When: Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm
Celebrate the trees in a weekend-long festival that celebrates Arbor Day!  

Tyrants and Tiaras: Pirate and Princess Day
Where: Long Island Aquarium
Cost: $26.50 for adults, $10.25 for children 12 and younger if dressed as a pirate or princess 
When: Saturday from 10am-3pm
Children 12 and younger will get 50% off admission to the aquarium when they come dressed in their favorite pirate or princess costume!  There will be photo opportunities, pistol duels, and whip and cannon demonstrations.  

All Kids Fair
Where: Melville Marriott
Cost: $5, free ages 2 and younger
When: Sunday from 10am-4:30 pm
Looking for a healthier weekend alternative?  This educational health and wellness fair will feature more than 80 different vendors!  Kids can have fun with free face painting, smoothies, and gluten free baked goods samples!

Weekend Events on Long Island

The snow may have kept you from going out last night, but there are still fun things to do across Long Island this weekend.  Here are a few ideas to keep you busy!

My Sinatra
This is a Sinatra tribute show starring Cary Hoffman.
When: Saturday, 3/21, 8pm
Where: Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E. Main St., Patchogue

St. Patrick's Day Parade
St. Patrick's Day may be over, but there are still several parades happening across Long Island this weekend.  
Where: Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre
When: Sunday at noon
Cost: Free

Hamptons Restaurant Week
Restaurants on the North Fork and South Fork are offering three-course prix-fixe menus this weekend. 
When: Sunday
Where: East End restaurants
Cost: $27.95

Happy Friday!  Are you ready for the weekend?  Here are a few of the many events happening across Long Island to keep you busy all weekend long.

Weekend Events:

Jay Leno Tour Stop
Where:  NYCB Theatre at Westbury, 960 Brush Hollow Rd.
Cost: $59.50
When: Friday, 3/13 at 7pm
The American comedian, actor, writer, producer, voice actor and television host Jay Leno will make an appearance for a performance at NYCB Theatre tonight.

Herb-Planting Workshop

Cost: FREE
When: Saturday, 3/14 at 11am and 1pm
Martin Viette Nurseries is continuing their lecture series with a free indoor workshop and how to grow herbs.

Irish Festival
Where: 6050 Northern Blvd., East Norwich
Cost: $6 (free for children under 12)
When: Sunday, 3/15 from 11am - 5pm
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day a little early this weekend with Hofstra University.  There will be live bands, Irish step dancers, craft vendors, and authentic Irish foods like corned beef and soda bread.
