A cardiologist based out of New York and New Jersey has
confessed to taking part in a scheme that subjected thousands of patients to
unnecessary tests and treatment. The tests and treatment resulted in a $19
million dollar “bogus bill”, which authorities are now calling the largest case
of health care fraud ever by a practitioner in either state!
Dr. Jose Katz pleaded guilty on Wednesday, April 10th,
in Federal Court to conspiracy to commit health care fraud.
Dr. Katz is scheduled to be sentenced on July 23, 2013. To
