Yesterday, there were four proposals received to redevelop Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Developers include Ed Blumenfeld of Syosset, whose plan is to build a scaled-down arena to replace the current 16,000 seat coliseum. Also in the running is the Madison Square Garden Company, which owns the New York Rangers, New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden.

According to Newsday, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano reported “With responses received from four high-level entertainment developers, we remain very encouraged that a plan for a midsize sports entertainment venue is in Nassau’s future.”
