Yesterday, divers successfully raised the yacht that capsized and sank in Oyster Bay on the 4th of July after a fireworks show, and killed three children. The yacht was lifted from the bottom of the bay and brought to a local marina for further inspection. Detectives and divers are hoping that getting the yacht to the marina will provide them with further clues and insight into how the accident happened.

Detective Lt. John Azzata, leader of the investigation, said it is under much speculation whether the accident was caused by overcrowding or not. There were 10 children and 17 adults on board the yacht when the accident occurred. They will also investigate to see if there was a mechanical malfunction, weather conditions or any other factors that could’ve been involved in the accident.

As of now, no criminal charges have been filed on the operator of the yacht. Police handling the accident reported that the operator of the yacht did not appear to be intoxicated after the incident.
