This weekend in Suffolk County, a sobriety checkpoint was
set up on Route 110 in Huntington. The checkpoint was run by the Suffolk County
Police, New York State Police and MTA Police.
The checkpoint was set up with the intent to prevent
injuries and fatalities. Of the 662 cars that passed thru the Route 110
checkpoint, there were thirteen arrests made by the end of it.
Twelve individuals were charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), and one other individual was charged with driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs and alcohol, possession of a
controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
What do you think about this? Do you think more DWI
checkpoints should be set up on the weekends? Let us know your thoughts on our
