Troopers are regulating distracted driving in order to keep roads safe.
Unmarked SUVs are continually occupied by State Troopers in order to enforce no
texting and driving.

Recently, New York State has pushed to transform 91 resting
areas along the state Thruway to become “Texting Zones,” even adding signs
designating the areas. Now with the use of unmarked SUVs, the efforts to stop
texting and driving is “one of the nation’s most aggressive attacks.” (Newsday)
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tells
Newsday that 660,000 drivers across the nation are using their cell phones
while driving during daylight hours. Out of that number, 421,000 have been
injured in car crashes involved in distracted driving and 3,300 have died as a
result. Stay safe this holiday season by traveling without distractions.
