Nassau County is offering warming centers for any Long
Island residents who are without heat during the extremely cold temperatures we’re
experiencing this week.
Edward P. Mangano, Nassau County Executive, announced
three warming center locations yesterday afternoon. The locations are the
community centers in Hicksville, Oyster Bay and Massapequa. They’re open during
regular daytime hours.
Nassau County Executive Mangano also put a reminder out
to Long Island residents about a program called WARMBED, which provides shelter
for homeless people on evenings and weekends.
How are you keeping warm during these extremely cold
temperatures? Let us know on our Facebook page, linked HERE!
