On Saturday, April 27th, the shuttle Enterprise arrived in New York City early Friday morning sitting atop a special modified 747 jet. The shuttle was heading to Manhattan’s Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
Enterprise shuttle arrived one week later than the shuttles
fleet leader, Discovery, which made way to the Smithsonian National Air and
Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
NASA has two other orbiters left, named Endeavor and
Atlantis. These two shuttles are going to be heading to museum retirement homes
soon.
Endeavor is going to the California Science Center in Los Angeles. Endeavor is currently at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will be moving to Los Angeles in September.
